How to get through a tough time

hi friends. I thought I'd share some advice on what to do when you are going through some ish. I'm not an expert, this is just what has always helped me in the past. Tell me what you thought down below and maybe comment what your tips are so we can all grow together.

The tips are bullet-pointed down below so you can maybe, after having watched the video (so you know what I am talking about), just copy and paste them and put them somewhere as reminders.


  1. being softer with yourself and allowing your process

  2. center yourself in reality: no denial, only when you're not in denial of your emotions and thoughts can you actually work with them and change them

  3. work on acceptance of reality (acceptance meditations, not distracting, journaling and being honest about how you feel and what you're doing to cope)

  4. meditation:

  5. work on negative beliefs (the work)

  6. feeling of safety and control

  7. make a daily routine for some semblance of control

  8. safety list (I have a video and blog post on that here on my website)

  9. professional help and community

  10. maximize self care time

  11. finding a balance between comfort and change:

  12. journal journal journal

  13. release page

  14. make a list of all the possible views/perspectives you can have on the situation

  15. what is this teaching me that i don't want - can i find out from there what i do want

  16. which addictions/cravings/obsessions are coming up? can you replace them with something healthier or more productive (e.g. phone time)

  17. more chill time and more quiet time:

  18. do weekly resets (if you need: daily resets)

  19. make a values list and every time you have to make a decision check to see whether what you're doing there is actually in accordance with your values

  20. be very explicit about what you want and need with the people around you

  21. Read fiction
